One of the jobs my uncles had to do was to saddle the horse and cart and go to the water well. When they arrived at the well they lowered a four gallon tin into the well and lifted it out then transferred the water to a forty-four gallon drum on the back of the cart. When the drum was filled we made the trip back home. By observing this process it has made me very conscious of the conservation of water.
