LINDSAY HARRIS - Gnamaar (Water holes) on rock - (ACQUIRED BY THE ART GALLERY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA COLLECTION)
The gnamaar (water) holes, on Coaring Rock were very important to the local Noongar people. As Kwolyin town site had no scheme water, the local Noongars had to improvise ways of accessing water and made use of the gnamaar holes. Some families washed their clothes in the pools and bathed their children in them. Local children used the gnamaar holes as a playground. The holes contained tadpoles and frogs and were used as a place for observation and learning.
