'Hope & Ruin in the Post-Anthropocene' - Liam Dee

18-June-2021 - 3-July-2021

This June Liam Dee delivers his latest solo exhibition 'Hope & Ruin in the Post-Anthropocene'.
A showcase spanning the past five years into his exploration of the surreal, post-industrial world.

Hope & Ruin aims to instil a sense of rejuvenation and balance in the uncertain future, the adaptability of nature and the perseverance of life itself.

Through painting and sculpture, we explore the possible future reality. Seeing what may become of our world when the role of custodian passes to new forms of life. Some which may have evolved from our own technology and industrial ways, and others which still carry on from the prehistoric age.

Hope & Ruin aims to reflect on how we are evolving as humans in this technological future state.
Whether through our actions we are heading to a social and environmental utopia, or a self-inflicted catastrophe. If we are capable of survival, or if we were only ever meant to serve as a lesson for the next cycle of sentient life.

‘The future’s uncertain, and the end is always near, Let it roll, baby, roll' - Jim Morrison.
