The paintings and ceramic sculptures in this exhibition ECSTASIS AND THE ALCHEMY OF THINGS are a distillation of the artist’s fascination with, and awe of, the phenomenal world, both visible and invisible, and the ongoing transformation of matter (seen and unseen) from one state to another.Universal energy inhabits all things and all things contain the traces of their passage.  Humans are things amongst other things and the alchemisation of self is no different to that of material processes. Wood absorbs her world on a daily basis, transforming that mundane energy internally and returns that energy into the objects she makes – her body in the world.
